I’ve got three sub-sections that I’ve updated on my About Us page. I’ve added a professional page and updated my personal about us page. The gaming about us page has yet to be updated, however. Check it out to learn more about Matt Richards!

New theme on blog!

Check out this beautiful, elegant new theme. I say it’s elegant, of course, since it’s from Elegant Themes! Sexy!

So, besides this amazing new theme, I’ve gone through and tries to apply some more functionality and features to the site, updating a bit of old content, doing some editing, and just making it a bit more clear.

There’s still a lot I need to do to get this blog up to date. But for any major updates I do complete, I’ll be sure to let you know via a new blog post. To keep up with what I’m doing on a more day-to-day basis, you suggest really try following my Twitter.

Week of Game Reviews

I feel like I’ve gotten behind in my game reviews. I’m going to spend this week doing one review per day. These will be mini-reviews, mind you, with the length of 3-5 paragraphs, a few scattered screenshots, and such.

Here’s the schedule:

Sunday	Call of Duty: World at War (360)
Monday	Fallout 3 (PC)
Tuesday	Spore (PC)
Wednesday	Left 4 Dead (PC & 360)
Thursday	Fable 2 (360)
Friday	Red Alert 3 (PC)
Saturday	Grand Theft Auto IV (360)

I fully except not to get all the reviews on time. However, I’ll do my best to keep within this time table.

I’m also playing through Crysis: Warhead, Need for Speed Undercover, Far Cry 2, the Penny Arcade game, and Burnout Paradise.

I also could write a review on Assassin’s Creed, World in Conflict, The Witcher, Frontlines: Fuels of War, and others.but I’ll put those off, for now. Maybe next week? Who knows!

At the end of the week, I also hope to post my 2008 Game of the Year picks.

If you came to the site yesterday from Google or Firefox 3, you may have noticed that the website was being blocked! Apparently, the Google Bot found a piece of malicious code in an old blog post. It’s not much to worry about – your computer is likely not infected by anything.

I’ve already removed the code and submitted the site for review – and it looks like we’re up again!

I’ve been really busy the past couple weeks, so I haven’t updated the site as much as I’ve like. I’ve got some blogs to write about some projects I’ve been working on, about my university and major I’ve chosen, and even made a great, new friend who is entirely wonderful… most of the time.

Updated Projects Page

Check out my new Projects page, I’ve spent an hour today going through and updating it. It contains a fair amount (but not all) of my recent projects. Will spend some more time updating it to reflect older projects, as well as perhaps add some graphical flare to it in the future.

At the moment, my biggest project is EnemyTerritory.tv, which should officially open sometime next week. I’m also working on a few more projects (namely a new web design portfolio), and I’ll be sure to keep the blog more updated from now on.

New Template

I’ve installed a brand new template, and edited it just a bit to fit more room on the pages. Also, have tweaked the site a bit so there’s less clutter & more relevant information. This is not my work, though as a web designer I wanted to create my own template. Sadly, not enough time at the moment. I look to create my own template in the future.

Testing Windows Live Writer

Cool new service called Windows Live Writer. Google it. Seeing if it works as advertised right now with a test upload.

Now, I’m looking into categories seeing if I can assign it to one. Yep… there we go. Nice and easy.

Post is published! Now let’s see if it allows editing.

Would you look at that… right under Open it has “Recently added”, and this bad boy is right on it. That’s nice. Poking around some more, lots of ways to insert Pictures, Tables, Maps, Tags, Videos… even edit your visual theme right from it.

Well, I’m pretty happy with it. Will probably keep this post up there for reference on the day “Mattc0m went Windows Live Writer”.

Transferred site… and now it's bare!

Being tired of the old site, I’ve placed this site on the barebones configuration. I’m going to be designing a new theme, and going to be focusing on it being lightweight instead of trying to stuff it with “cool” but site-slowing plugins.

One of the reasons behind this is I transferred hosts, and there was some issues with PHP & the new MySQL database. Instead of screwing with it all (unsuccessfully), I just reverted to the default. My new host is www.geekstorage.com and so far I really like them.
